RANK

Usage: RANK [country] rank

Set your rank, or change your rank if you want to start all over at a new rank. Normally, you need only to use this command ONCE when you first entered the rating system of WING. This rank will change accordingly depends on the results of the rated games you played. However, if it happens that apparently you set a wrong one and feels like to change it, you will have to RESET your game results before you can change your rank. This condition is implemented in order to prevent mistype of RANK command.

TAKE CARE: WHEN YOU SET A NEW RANK, ALL YOUR PAST RATED GAMES COUNT AND RATING POINT WOULD BE RESET.

If you are not sure of the rank you should set, and you have a rank in some other places, like your country or other internet go servers, set it in the 'country' field and WING will set a rank accordingly for you. The available choices for the country field are: AGA JAPAN CHINA KOREA EUROPE IGS NNGS LGS

QUICK-START EXAMPLES: By typing "rank 3k", you are taking a rank of 3-kyu; with "rank 2d" you are taking a rank of 2-dan. You can also type like "rank japan 6d" and you will be set to 1d on WING accordingly. Your rank will be displayed by the command "stats", also "user".

If you are a beginner of GO, set your rank to 30k. If you do not want to be rated, set your rank to NR, means Non-Rated., If you have a rank in your country, you can also refer to an equivalent rank in WING by 'help rankconv'. If you are not certain of your rank, please play a few games as NR before deciding.

If you are a professional player or a very high-dan player, you may have to ask an administrator to set your rank, because the highest rank can be set by the RANK command is 4d. Use 'admins' to check out the admins loggin on. If you can find none, mail us at wing@wing.brlnet.net. We would be glad to give you a rank that you prefer.
